From version 6.0 Marshmallow, the Android began to natively support the fingerprint scanners. This change opened effectively the doors, and now almost all the devices top of the line Android include a fingerprint scanner ready for use. If you lose the opportunity to set up a screen lock fingerprint during the initial setup, it is not too late to do so. Provided that the device include a fingerprint scanner, the configuration is really easy.
Unlock Mobile by Digital for the Settings
Go to the Settings menu of digital printing. For this, you need to go to the main menu Settings of your mobile phone or tablet. From here, select the option “Security” (most devices) or “Lock screen and security” (devices Samsung). From here, the rest of the configuration should be pretty much the same, regardless of the type of device you have.
Phone That Unlocks with the Digital You Need a Backup Method to Unlock
Then, you will see a screen that provides details about the security of the fingerprint, therefore, carefully read it and press “Continue”. From here, you will be prompted to add a backup code that will be used in case the scanner cannot recognize your fingerprint. Select “Pattern”, “PIN” or “Password” as your unlock code from backup and enter in the following menu. After that, you will be prompted to confirm your code. Insert it once more. Passwords and PINs are more secure than defaults to your smartphone.
Register Your Fingerprint
Finally, it is time to register your fingerprint. An animated demonstration on your screen it should tell you where to put your finger and when you do so, you will feel a small vibration. Take your finger out of the scanner, slightly change the position and put your finger back on the scanner. Repeat this same process about five times, and then your fingerprint will be registered.
When you are finished, you can add a second digital printing choosing the option “Add another” and you can repeat this for up to five fingers. Tap “Done” when finished.
From now on, whenever you go to unlock your device, just place any registered finger on the scanner, and then you will be taken directly to the home screen.
A Note About Fingerprints and Security
Nowadays, keeping your personal data secure is a problem. It is worth noting that a fingerprint is inherently less secure than a password that consists of random characters, and this is the result of a variety of factors.
First, passwords can be changed, but fingerprints cannot. If someone does learn your password, you could simply change it – but the same can’t be said of the fingerprint. This problem is compounded by the fact that the fingerprint sensors of today can be fooled by a clone of your fingerprint, then this is something to be perceived.
Second, and perhaps more importantly, someone can force you to scan your fingerprint and unlock your phone. This is disheartening, but it is worth noting that if you restart your phone, Android requires you to enter your backup password instead of just your fingerprint, then it is something that you should keep in mind. Therefore, always use more than one method of security to ensure that no one will use your device
