WhatsApp is already available on the Web, which means that it is possible to simultaneously access your WhatsApp account on your phone, tablet, laptop or PC without a hack. The use of this system is very simple and will not require more than a few steps on your smartphone and in the browser of your PC or laptop.
Limitations of WhatsApp Web
Note that for now WhatsApp on the Web works only with Android phones and iOS. You should also be using the Google Chrome browser and check if you are running the latest version of WhatsApp. Update your apps through the Play Store or the App Store to ensure that it is with the latest version of the operating system.
To delete sent messages, there is a time limit to be able to delete them to not appear for other people. After this limit, they can only be deleted for you and not for other users.
It is not possible to also add new contacts from the web. You still need to do this by your device.
How to Use WhatsApp Web with Code?
Let’s go to the steps to start using WhatsApp Web.
On your computer or laptop, start the browser and go to https://web.whatsapp.com. A QR code will appear on the screen of your PC. You do not need a QR reader installed on your phone to read this.
Start WhatsApp on your phone and go to the settings menu (click the three dots in the upper right corner to access more options on an Android device) and select WhatsApp Web.
A QR reader will open on your phone; point to the screen of your PC to read the code and be automatically logged into WhatsApp on the web.
The interface will be familiar to users of the phone WhatsApp, but you should notice that the notifications on the desktop are compatible, which may be necessary to disable in the settings menu for privacy reasons if this is a shared PC. And on the phone, tap the icon of three dots brings up more options. Select Notifications and then clear the Alerts and sounds from your desktop.
Start a new conversation is slightly different on the desktop. And on the phone, you can click on the icon of the new message, to select one of your contacts, but in WhatsApp on the Web, the search function allows you to start new conversations, and filter the chats that exist.
In a conversation the interface matches that of the phone, with icons emoticons and microphone positioned on both sides of the text input field bottom and a paper clip icon at the top to attach files. In addition, there is an icon with more options that allows you to view contact information. And, as in the phone, you get the system of check marks (“ticks”) to show whether the messages were sent, delivered and read.
Once your phone and computer are connected, you can manage your connected computers from your phone via the Options menu, WhatsApp Web. From here you can get all the computers, or you can use the options menu in WhatsApp on the web to log out of the PC you are currently using. By default, WhatsApp will keep you logged in, unless you specify otherwise, but, after logout, you will need to go through the process of the QR code again in the next time you want to log into WhatsApp on that machine.
The messages between phone and browser are instantly synchronized, so the users in contracts of mobile data limited should be wary of increased data usage. It is a good idea to connect your Wi-Fi if you are a heavy user of WhatsApp.
Security of WhatsApp Web
The QR code WhatsApp Web is your greatest source of security. With it it is possible to login and logout of computers, managing which devices have access to your WhatsApp account. This will ensure greater privacy and, of course, greater security, because no one can access your account without you authorising it.
