Now is one of the most anticipated smart phones has finally come – the Samsung Galaxy S5 was presented at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. The company’s newest flagship measure 142,0 x 72,5 x 8.1 mm and reminds us a little bit about his predecessor, Galaxy S4, but the newer model has a number of improvements in terms of software, battery life and design.
The removable back cover on Galaxy S5 has a soft, leathery surface that feels good and gives a solid grip. The sides have a metallic finish. Samsung calls this design for “Modern Flash” and they say that the back cover will be available in several colors – black, white, blue and copper.
Samsung Galaxy S5
Samsung Galaxy S5 has a Super AMOLED 3.2-inch screen (compared to 5-inch on S4) with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 432ppi pixel density. The front is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the screen has a chip that can sense light and adjust the changes on the screen (brightness, saturation, contrast) in a similar way. Thanks to this option, your screen should always look as it should.
The Interior has Galaxy S5 a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon processor 800, supported by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB of built-in memory, which is expandable via microSD card (you can add up to 128 GB). S5 – Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface running on based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Its 2800 mAh battery can be taken out and have much larger capacity than the previous year’s Galaxy S4 – it should give up to 390 hours on standby and 21 hours of talk time.
Another thing that is improved is the new 16-megapixels camera with LED Flash and auto focus. 5312 x 2988 pixel, it can take pictures and record 2160 p videos. Samsung updated by speed and exposure by integrating a sensor which has face detection AF (plus contrast based AF) – this means that the camera reacts faster and better than what is in the S4. Samsung has also posted the HDR to and a couple of new interesting modes.
The fingerprint reader that everyone has been talking about for several months, works when you switch the phone on and swiper finger down from the screen to the bottom of the home button. Not as good as the iPhone which is found in the 5S, but still much better than on the HTC One Max. The fingerprint reader can unlock your phone up, help you to protect your private data and Samsung told that they have partnered with PayPal to provide the option of making electronic payments via the fingerprint reader.
Heart rate sensor is another new feature which you’ll find at the back of the S5 and can monitor your heart rate (hold your finger on the sensor), remember your history and make graphs with pertinent information. S-Health app works in the starting point as a personal trainer.
Galaxy S5 is IP67-certified, which means that it is both water-and dust-resistant. When it comes to arming, Samsung Galaxy S5 with NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB ac 3.0/4.0 DIAPER/ANT +, Cat 4 LTE (up to 150Mbps download/50Mbps opp) and GPRS.
