Xiaomi Sold 14.8 Million Smartphones in the First Quarter of 2016

With the first quarter of 2016 now behind us, begin to arrive the first data and analyses related to the performance of the different producers during the first quarter of the new year.Today we speak of Xiaomi, one of the leading Chinese manufacturers that in 2015 has managed to create the smartphone sector, sales of 70 million units. Very interesting figures when you consider how young society, although slightly below the expectations of the producer himself since the quota last year were well 80 million units.

That said, they begin to get data about the first 3 months of 2016, emerged through analysis of Chinese analyst Kevin Wang of IHS Technology. According to Wang, Xiaomi sold 14.8 million units during the period analyzed, considering also the terminals sold outside China, proposing particularly data identical to those of the same period in 2015, during which the unit sales amounted to 14.98 million.

It is certainly very good results in absolute terms, especially if we take into account the fact that most of these sales were buoyed by last year’s models. Please remember that, in the period under consideration, the cutting edge of society, Xiaomi Mi 5, is still in a stage of flash sales, so its real impact on sales volumes of the company you will find only in the coming months. The contribution of Redmi 3 Pro has been completely null and void within the first quarter of the year, so it will be more interesting to find out what will be the results of sales made by Xiaomi during the second quarter and the first half of the year.
